This six week online course will focus on how modern genetics has revolutionised approaches to the detection and treatment of cancer. It will feature a range of guest lecturers from the College of MVLS including active researchers in the Schools of Cancer Sciences, Cell, Molecular and Systems Biology and Health and Wellbeing. The course is suitable for anyone with an interest in cancer genomics, including those interested in applying for the MSc in Cancer Sciences.

Professor Anna Dominiczak, Regius Chair of Medicine, Vice Principal and Head of College said, ‘Cancer medicine has been benefiting greatly from the modern genetics and genomics with the next generation sequencing bringing personalised or stratified medicine to the clinic. This new course will help you to understand this genomic revolution.’

The MOOC (massive open online course) is led by Dr. Leah Marks and Dr. Sarah Meek, and is delivered by the School of Medicine and the School of Cancer Sciences. It is run in partnership with FutureLearn, a free, open, online platform for courses from multiple UK and international universities.

Registration is now open and further details can be found on the FutureLearn website
