The Glasgow MBA Professional Development and Employability (PDE) Award

The Glasgow MBA Professional Development and Employability (PDE) Award

As an MBA student, you will be able to take a dedicated Professional Development & Employability Award (PDE) that is timetabled throughout the MBA programme, starting from induction.

The Professional Development and Employability Award recognises your individual commitment to your own professional development during the MBA. We encourage you to develop in order to become an Enlightened, Engaged and Enterprising MBA graduate.

What will it involve?

Within the Adam Smith Business School we believe we can provide you with the skillset, knowledge and opportunities to enhance your MBA experience by developing your self-awareness, professional development and employability in line with our aim of enabling MBA graduates to be:

  • Enlightened
  • Engaged
  • Enterprising

Ultimately the Professional Development and Employability Award aims to enhance your ability to make a successful transition from the MBA into a future leadership role.

What's in it for me?

By completing the Professional Development & Employability Award, you will receive a certificate upon graduation and acknowledgment of the Award on your HEAR. HEAR stands for Higher Education Achievement Report – an extended degree transcript which details both your academic and extracurricular accomplishments.

What happens if I can't attend one of the activities?

If you are unable to attend one of your chosen activities, you must contact the MBA Careers Manager who will discuss an alternative activity with you. It is important that you contact the Careers Manager if you have any difficulties; if you don't complete all of the Professional Development & Employability Award activities, you won't receive the Award at the end of the year.
