Guest speaker events

Students in a lecture theatre

Throughout the academic year you will have the opportunity to attend a variety of guest speaker events arranged by the School. By attending these events you will be able to interact with staff and fellow students, and also network with alumni and our business connections to develop your professional network.

Guest speakers from past events have included Benny Higgins, former CEO of Tesco Bank; Karen Betts, Chief Executive of Scotch Whisky Association; Graeme Brown, CEO of Shelter; and Julie Bonn, Deputy Chief Economic Adviser, Competition and Markets Authority.

Events are normally held on campus and include a lecture from guest speaker and a Q&A session. High-profile events may also include a reception with refreshments.

Inspiring Leaders Series

These events offer students the opportunity to gain insight into the real world of business from inspirational leaders from a diverse range of organisations.

Adam Smith Distinguished Speaker Series

Our flagship event series welcomes acclaimed speakers from the world of economics to the University.

Business school students who will soon themselves be industry practitioners are strongly encouraged to attend these events.

You will be invited to guest lectures by email, via social media and posters around the main building. To attend an event, you must register in advance to secure your place and to provide numbers for catering if included.
