The International Business and Enterprise Research Cluster is a leading centre for the study of business and management in an international context. We conduct world-class research, teaching and knowledge exchange on:
- International entrepreneurship
- The organisation of multinational corporations
- Professional service firms as agents of globalisation
- International economic history
- The geopolitics of management knowledge production
Our research regularly appears in major scholarly journals in the field of international business and beyond. We are active members of the international business scholarly community and maintain productive links with other disciplines, such as organisation studies, international political economy and economic history.
We edit and serve on the editorial boards of several leading journals, such as the Journal of Management Studies, the Journal of World Business, Organization Studies, Critical Perspectives on International Business, the Journal of Professions and Organization and Human Relations. We are also actively involved in the Academy of International Business UK & Ireland Chapter (AIB-UKI) and currently chair its Executive Board. We regularly organise and chair events, including hosting the successful interdisciplinary Professions Fest in 2019 and the upcoming AIB-UKI conference.
We have extensive international links with researchers, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), multinational corporations and policy makers. We carry out our research across the globe and our members frequently contribute to the international media.
