Xiao has been in Glasgow for four years, and finished his MSc in International Finance and Management at the University of Glasgow. He started pursuing the PhD in 2015. He is interested in international human resource management. His research topic is on expatriates through the lens of the psychological contract. Expatriation for international assignment is of importance to the strategic objectives of internationally minded organizations, existing research is inclined to show a focus on either the HR/organizational practices or the expatriates’ experiences, but little on how the two parties connect. His interest is in looking at expatriates from employment relationship perspective, in particular, the psychological contracting process.
