Accounting Professionals and the Negotiation of Professional Identity

Research summary

PhD Title

Getting In and Getting On: Career Trajectories and Experiences of Social Mobility in the UK Accountancy Profession.

My PhD thesis investigates: how accountants working in practice in the UK make sense of their social backgrounds nd mobility trajectories; how accountants' experiences of social mobility affect their career choices and progression; and how accountants perceive and internalise social mobility and diversity issues within the accountancy profession.
