Graduate Centre for Economic and Financial Studies

The Graduate Centre for Economics and Finance Studies was established in 2007. It’s aim to provide research-led teaching focused on the efficient functioning of capital markets, the development of innovative financial products and the implementation of efficient risk management.

As a postgraduate student, you will have access to bespoke research seminars from the finance, macroeconomics and microeconomics research clusters, practitioners’ talks and learn from the various research collaborations in this graduate centre.

There are eight Masters degrees to choose from. All have a financial and economical focus, catering to students from various backgrounds such as maths, engineering, accounting & finance and economics. You will gain the desired knowledge and skillset to work in the field of financial economics, and learn how to think critically through the various innovative teaching and learning approaches we use. These include trading simulation, role-playing, portfolio development and problem-based learning activities.

This is enhanced further by offering multidisciplinary activities across this graduate centre and the various research clusters of the Business School. This includes teaching opportunities and research seminars from all clusters of the Business School and the compilation of the dissertation with a supervisor who is an expert at the specific research topic.
