“Thank you for awarding me the Adam Smith Business School Prize for PhD Excellence to recognise the significance of my Thesis and its contribution to my field of banking study. I could not have completed the journey of knowledge without the generous financial support of the Adam Smith Business School PhD Scholarship during the past three years. Receiving this prize motivates me to keep pursuing my academic career and produce more publications to contribute to this strand of research.
I’d like to express my gratitude to two outstanding supervisors, Dr Frank Hong Liu and Professor Kwaku Opong for their insightful guidance, encouragement and unlimited support. Dr Hong Liu’s passion for research inspired me to work harder and produce a high quality of research. I am indebted for his effort from the beginning until the end of my PhD journey.
I also want to send my appreciation to head of department, Professor John McKernan, for twice awarding me ‘best graduate teaching assistant’ based on my high students’ satisfaction rating in the accounting and finance department.
My sincere thanks to Dr Yannis Tsalavoutas and Christine Athorne who invited me as a guest speaker on the first year PhD study day and gave me a chance to gain experience as a PhD representative for two years. This made my PhD life in Glasgow more meaningful and unforgettable.”
