Issued: Tue, 13 Jun 2017 13:54:00 BST

College of Social Science students who’ve taken part in activities to enhance their employability skills were recognised in a special ceremony recently on 19 May 2017.

The event celebrated the success of students who’ve taken part in extra-curricular activities including the Graduate Skills Programme (GSP), the Graduate Performance Management Programme (GPMP) or who have worked as an Adam Smith Business School (ASBS) Peer Supporter.

Also recognised for their engagement, dedication and hard work were those students who have demonstrated significant society engagement, such as those involved in the Business Case Competitions and the TEDxUniversityofGlasgow conference.

The students featured in the CoSS Student Spotlight and MyCoSSstory received awards too. Employers EY and Morgan Stanley presented prizes to individuals with exceptional ePortfolios from the GSP.

ASBS Peer Supporters, in collaboration with the university’s Counselling and Psychological Services, are trained to provide guidance and emotional support to fellow students.

The Graduate Skills Programme is designed to help students reflect on their academic, extra-curricular and work-related engagements throughout university to enhance their employability skills.

The Graduate Performance Management Programme (GPMP), is an Institute of Leadership / Management (ILM) accredited programme that helps improve students’ entry into the workplace and develop key attributes that are important to succeeding in their career.

Following the ceremony, students had an opportunity to network with fellow participants and employers.
