Glasgow MBA alumnus Camilo Gomez Pinto has been shortlisted for an Entrepreneurial Venture award in the 2019 AMBA Excellence Awards.

Entrepreneur Camilo set up Once upon a Whisky in 2017. The whisky tour company draws on popular culture to deliver a unique experience and bring whisky to a new and young audience.

Once upon a Whisky was selected by the Royal Bank of Scotland to be part of their small business accelerator programme. Camilo has also established a relationship with Visit Scotland to promote his tours to overseas visitors as part of a drive to help the overall Scottish economy and the whisky industry. He also joined Visit Scotland in Amsterdam in October 2018 to take part in their European Business Development Mission.

Once upon a Whisky Director, Camilo Gomez Pinto, said: “It's an honour for me to be nominated for this award. This is a clear sign that the combination of hard work and the braveness of pursuing your dreams will eventually pay off. Today, I am a better entrepreneur with clear and ambitious business goals. This nomination motivates me, even more to continue in the pursuit of excellence. Thanks so much to the Adam Smith Business School for believing in me and giving me the mindset to achieve.”

Camilo’s company is built upon a clean, eco-friendly business model. His tours are based on responsible drinking, education and culture. They support local businesses such as bars, restaurants, hotels and distilleries by taking customers to their facilities.

Once upon a Whisky buys no commodities, creates no products or generates waste.
