A unique partnership between RANEPA (Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration) and the Business School is enabling a group of 11 undergraduate and postgraduate students to travel to Moscow to take part in the Russia-UK Student Economic Forum (RUKSEF 2018) this summer.
The Forum will create a platform for young people interested in economics and innovation to exchange ideas and collaborate on their project work. Participants will learn to apply critical and design thinking, solve complex analytical tasks, work as part of a team to complete a project aimed at creating a better economic future and enjoy a cultural programme, including a trip to central Moscow whilst making new friends and connections.
The theme of the 2018 Forum is ‘Technological Trends and Economic Change’. It will examine how technologies such as 3D printing, autonomous driving and artificial intelligence will have a profound impact on how firms produce and deliver goods and services and on every aspect of our daily lives, including consumption patterns, and students will be part of this discussion.
RUKSEF provides a platform to exchange ideas among students of different academic and cultural backgrounds, giving them a unique opportunity to widen their professional horizon, develop new insights on their studies and make new friends.
In return, during February 2019, the Business School will host a visit of Russian student participants and invite Glasgow students to a series of round table workshops and case competitions.
The Summer/Winter school exchange project, created by the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) in conjunction with the University of Glasgow, follows last year’s successful exchange between the top 25 students from RUKSEF 2017 and the Adam Smith Business School.
The exchange was set up to build relations between the University of Glasgow and Russian Higher Education Institutes.
