Adam Smith Business School students have won first place in the Universities Business Challenge (UBC) for the second time in three years. This makes University of Glasgow the only university to win both the UG and PGT title.

The 2021 title follows the Business School Undergraduate students placing 3rd in 2020 and winning the event in 2019.

Glasgow MBA and PGT students Sudhir Ghildiyal, Ding Ren, Fei Xie, Yingqi Zhang, worked together remotely to gain top place in the event for Masters students against more than 15 teams in the final. The team was tasked with taking part in a trade game and presenting their ideas in a video and presentation.

The School’s first win in 2019 brought the UBC accolade to Scotland for the first time in the competition’s history.

The UBC United Kingdom Undergraduate Challenge runs from October to March and the teams taking part competitively run a series of realistic, simulated businesses.

The event enables students to develop employability and enterprise skills, build their profile, network and meet leading graduate employers.
