Professor Kat Riach, Director, Responsible and Sustainable Management, has won an Imaginative Educator Award from the Scottish Institute for Enterprise (SIE).

The accolade recognises her work to inspire and support students to launch an intergenerational mentoring scheme, DigiGallus Connect, connecting students with the over-50s to help develop their digital access and confidence during lockdown.

The SIE awards acknowledge exceptional responses from individual educators and teams in colleges and universities to the teaching challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking about the winners, Fiona Godsman, Chief Executive of SIE said: “Congratulations to our award winners. The best responses had the potential to build a positive legacy beyond the current crisis and address the challenges of the future.”

SIE is funded by the Scottish Funding Council and Scottish Enterprise to help students in Scotland develop enterprise skills, discover their entrepreneurial talent and start up their own ventures.
