International summer schools
International summer schools are a chance to enrich your studies, enjoy an international experience for a few weeks over the summer and to supplement your studies.
Current business school students will find below a list of summer schools for which we offer full- or partial scholarships in 2018 as well as a list of recommended summer schools from our partner universities around the globe.
Current business school students should also check the GoAbroad website of the University of Glasgow’s International Office, which contains additional summer schools as well as funding opportunities.
For incoming visiting students, the University of Glasgow offers its International Summer School (ISS). Glasgow’s ISS is an opportunity to explore a particular topic in more depth and to experience teaching from world-class academic staff.

Tec de Monterrey
TEC Summer School
Tec de Monterrey, a private university based in based in Monterrey (Mexico), offers an exciting summer school, which will take place at its Mexico City Campus and surrounding attractions such as Teotihuacan. Among the courses offered are “International Marketing and Public Relations”, “Innovation, Development, & Negotiation”, and “Social Entrepreneurship and Corporate Sustainability”.

The International Summer UniversityWU (ISUWU) is an intensive short-program. Students from all around the globe will come to WU, bringing with them their unique backgrounds and a passion for intercultural learning. In two different sessions, the unique ISUWU 2017 program structure will include both bachelor and master students.
Solvay Summer School 2017 – European Challenges
The Solvay Summer School, which runs from 18th to 26th of August 2017, is a summer institute for talented students from all around the world. The summer school offers a tailored analysis of “Entrepreneurship and Technology”, “Economics and Finance”, “International Business (Advanced)” or "Business Law" with half the course being given on the specific topics. It develops students’ grasp of business, economics and policy issues and especially their interactions.
HKU Summer Institute 2017
HKU Summer Institute offers a wide range of programmes from different faculties, providing quality learning and rare chances to study abroad for students. The programmes are open to all undergraduates and secondary students and are best suited for students who are looking to expand their academic and cultural horizons during summer in one of the most vibrant cities in Asia.
Aarhus BSS Winter School
Since 1999, the triple accredited Aarhus School of Business and Social Sciences (Aarhus BSS) has run a Winter School for business students at bachelor level. The Winter School consists of the course "Danish and European Business in a Global Perspective" as well as a social programme including e.g. tour of historical Aarhus and a traditional Danish food tasting. The course is a mixture of lectures, classroom workshops, discussions, exercises and excursions. The students should expect to spend at least one hour preparing for each lesson. The Winter School requires the full attention of participants. Holiday activities may be planned before and/or after the Winter School. Summer Programme LUISS – Paris Dauphine
The topic of the Rome-Paris Summer Programme is on Europe in the XXI Century. The topic will be not only Europe, but also the integration of the majority of its states in the supranational entity called European Union. Its complex functioning is the outcome of several historic events and political compromises that brought its member states together. For many centuries, Europe has been a breeding ground for national rivalries which turned into wars, some of which became global. It was precisely the craving for peace that triggered the European integration process.
EDHEC Summer Courses
The EDHEC Summer Programme, offered by the triple accredited (AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS) EDHEC Business School, will examine topics of key interest to business and economics students unfamiliar with European institutions, nations and the particular problems presented in constructing a European Union and at the same time, globalizing enterprises outside that union. During this 3-week programme each module is 3 International credits or 6 ECTS.
IESEG International Fashion Business Summer Program
IÉSEG School of Management’s International Fashion Business Summer Program (July 1-16) provides students with basic knowledge in all of the key areas associated with the fashion business including brand development and positioning, digital marketing, retail, advertising, and consumer behaviour. The fee for this program is 2160 euros (instead of 2400) including courses, company visits and activities, as well as accommodation in single room and a public transportation pass.
IESEG International Summer Academy
The triple accredited (AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS) IÉSEG School of Management offers students a unique opportunity to study Global Business & Management on their Paris Campus. During this four-week summer programme, not only will students be taught by leading IÉSEG faculty and other internationally renowned lecturers, but they will also get to meet friends from all over the world and get a taste of the French Art de Vivre.
ASBS students benefit from a 10% partner discount on the total programme fee. Therefore, the total programme fee would be only €2,871 (instead of €3,190) for the full program of 5 courses (72 contact hours, 8 ECTS), an intensive French language course (30 contact hours, 4 ECTS), accommodation in single room, extracurricular activities etc. And €2,385 (instead of €2,650) for students who do not want to sign up for the French language course.
Frankfurt School Finance Boot Camp
Taught entirely in English, this short-term programme attracts highly-motivated Bachelor and first-year Master students enrolled in non-finance programmes from all over the world who are pursuing to sharpen their banking and financial skills in Frankfurt am Main, one of the leading financial centres in Europe.
During two weeks, participants will have the chance to get an insightful overview on the latest developments and trends in the field of Banking and Finance from a European perspective. The programme combines classroom sessions, bank visits, cultural activities, and – as the name portrays – some optional sport activities. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a certification equivalent to 5 or 7.5 ECTS (for 7.5 ECTS an additional essay is required).

Radboud Summer School
Radboud Summer School 2017 offers more than 40 challenging academic courses of either one or two weeks in a wide range of fields. Renowned academic staff from Radboud University, Radboud University Medical Centre and some of its international partners will offer carefully selected courses that will inspire students and researchers and provide them with the opportunity to extend their network. Católica Porto Business School – Summer School 2017
The Católica Porto Business School of the Catholic University of Portugal is recognized, both nationally and internationally, for its excellence and innovative teaching methods in economics and management. Católica Porto Business School’s summer school, open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, offers two programmes: Marketing Trends and International Business.
Jönköping University Summer School
Jönköping University offers a summer school at the undergraduate level in Purchasing Logistics with a Global Perspective equivalent to 10 ECTS credits.
Students will have the opportunity to obtain credits and participate in social and cultural activities to discover and learn about Sweden and the Swedish culture. In addition students will participate in company visits to some of the international well known Swedish companies such as IKEA and Husqvarna They will benefit from a term abroad during their summer break with the possibility to gain valuable international experience.

Other Summer Schools
2018 Aberdeen Standard Investments/Japan Society of Scotland Thomas Blake Glover Scholarship
Students interested in studying in Japan are welcome to apply for this scholarship created in recognition of the work of Thomas Blake Glove, an Aberdeenshire-born entrepreneur credited with opening Japan up to the West. It aims to recognise Glover’s success in Japan and provide young Scots with the opportunity to learn about business and culture in the hope of further improving Scotland’s historic links with Japan.
The deadline for applications is Friday 24th November 2017.
University of Amsterdam UVA Summer School
BI Norwegian Business School International Summer Programme
The triple accredited (AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS) BI Norwegian Business School offers a four-week summer course (10 ECTS) in Oslo, Norway from late June to late July. The summer course includes an extensive exposure to Norwegian industries through guest lectures and company visits, an introduction to Norwegian life and society and social and cultural activities – including sightseeing, outdoors activities (hiking, climbing, barbecues with games).
Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Antai College of Economics and Management
In 2013, Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, established the Antai Global Summer Program (AGSP) to satisfy the growing need of helping international students understand China from business perspectives. AGSP is a three-week-long, credits-conferring, English-taught summer program focusing on Learning Business and Culture in China. Approximately 100 students from over 20 countries joined each cohort. The Program holds two separate sessions in May and July each year, in order to match the summer-break calendars at different schools.
Participants will gain a deep understanding of the Chinese economy and culture with in-class coursework, company visits, social events and tours. In addition to having faculty who teach in top business schools around the world, the summer program features sessions taught by executive speakers including senior knowledge expert of top-brand MNCs, executives of successful Chinese enterprises, founders of start-up companies and so on.
Cultural immersion activity is also a highlight of the program. During the program, we organize out-of-city excursions, acrobatic shows, river cruising, tea-making, Zen practice, pot modeling, Chinese cooking lessons etc.
The program offers two tracks: undergraduate track and graduate track. The undergraduate track is aimed to familiarize students with Chinese history, culture, policy and business environment, whereas the graduate track focus on developing students’ vision and capabilities of doing business in China.
University of Zurich Summer School
This summer school looks at the development of Switzerland into one of the richest and most globalized countries in the world. Find out how some Swiss companies evolved into big transnational corporations and how they manage to export Swiss-made goods under the condition of a strong currency, the Swiss Franc.
During these two weeks, you will have the opportunity to travel to some of Switzerland's most scenic locations like Lucerne and Schwyz. You will also discover the country's political roots and its main economic sectors when visiting the legendary Rütli, also called the "Craddle of the Confederation", the capital city of Berne, as well as Nestlé, the largest food company in the world.
Participating in this summer school will not only allow you to get to know the University of Zurich but also to experience Zurich as one of the world's most attractive student cities. As part of the social program, they will introduce you to some of the city's most beautiful spots. And since the university is located in the heart of Zurich, you will find it easy to further explore the city on your own.
