To celebrate the Global Entrepreneurship Week, Inspiring Leaders are joining forces with Startup Grind to host accomplished entrepreneur Dr Majid Anwar. Startup Grind University of Glasgow is an entrepreneurial community that aims to inspire, educate, and connect like-minded people with an interest in entrepreneurship.

Majid is a serial entrepreneur having raised in excess of $80.0 Million in Angels, VCs and Sovereign Wealth funds. He is a thought leader in user interface and mobile software and has lectured on these issues to institutions including the US Patent Office; and his expert advice has been sought by the likes of Apple and Samsung. He has a track record of coming up with original ideas, seeing these through productization, development of business models, building teams and turning technology into sales. He has filed in excess of 100 patents including key patents in “real time zooming” used on just about every mobile device on the planet.
His IP has generated more than $100M in revenues from Samsung alone. His innovations have been deployed by all the major players in the mobile industry, including device manufacturers, carriers and cloud providers, shipping software on billions of devices word wide. Majid has been recognised by many prestigious technology and corporate awards, including two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, the European IST prize and the Red Herring Global Award amongst others; and created a “Unicorn” company, valued at $1.2b for IPO by Morgan Stanley.
Majid is an alumni of the University of Glasgow, graduating with degree in Medicine.
