FinTech Friday: Filotheos Bezerianos
Filotheos Bezerianos, Senior Cloud Advisor, Cloudreach
Friday 7 May, 12.00pm - 1.00pm
Each month we host our FinTech Friday series, taking place on the first Friday of every month. Hosted by Adam Smith Business School, we invite inspiring and innovative practitioners, who will discuss with us their rich industry insight, experiences, and current trends within this exciting industry.
In May we focussed on Cloud Computing and its impact on FinTech innovation and digital entrepreneurship. Cloud Computing is transforming the way FinTech companies are delivering financial services. We be explored the exciting area of Cloud Computing, discussing how key developments and trends are pushing forward the FinTech ecosystem, with Imperial College alumni, Filotheos Bezerianos.
Filotheos is an experienced Cloud Advisor focusing on the adoption of new technologies and ways of working and how these can be applied to solve business problems, improve efficiency and deliver reliable services. During his career he has helped businesses across various sectors to grow and stay competitive by driving the transformation of global organisations with focus on Agile, DevOps and Public Cloud.
In conversation with Filotheos, we explored how the pay-as-you-go model of the Cloud allows large Enterprises and start-ups to build and scale robust solutions efficiently to meet their business needs; and how the Public Cloud enables innovation in FinTech (e.g. Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence). We also discussed the challenges organisations face in their Cloud journey and what they must do for a successful Cloud adoption. Finally, we discussed how Universities can prepare the future Business Leaders for the new world of Cloud Computing.
This session was hosted by Dr Charalampos Stasinakis, Reader in Accounting and Finance at the University of Glasgow. The event is convened by Dr Helen Mullen, Coordinator of the MSc Financial Technology Pathways Projects.
These events take place via a Zoom webinar.
