Archaeobotany and Quaternary Palaeoecology

4. Scottish Archaeobotany. Identification and analysis of plant remains, both pollen and macroscopic fossils, from archaeological layers of all periods of Scottish history. One of the principal activities of the Hopkirk Laboratory was the study of plant remains recovered from archaeological layers in Scotland (from Mesolithic to Medieval). Much of this work is summarised in the book "Plants & People in Ancient Scotland" by the late Camilla Dickson and Professor Dickson, (2000).
