The Ronald and Rita McAulay Scholarship

Description

Mr Ronald McAulay, alumnus of the University (MA 1965), and his wife Rita wish to establish a Scholarship to support students who are Hong Kong nationals wishing to take up an undergraduate course of study at the University of Glasgow.

The McAulays would like to establish a scholarship which encourages Hong Kong residents to achieve an international education, therefore the award will cover course tuition fees and a living cost stipend.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • hold an offer of a place for an undergraduate programme at the University of Glasgow for 2020
  • be a Hong Kong national
  • demonstrate excellent academic achievement before starting University

Value

Tuition plus a yearly stipend to cover living costs for the duration of the degree (4 or 5 years).

Assessment will be based on the quality of the application, specifically:

  • Academic achievement
  • Personal statement

To apply for this scholarship, please submit a 500 word personal statement to scholarships@glasgow.ac.uk by 27 March 2020.

Your personal statement must include:

  • Your full name, UCAS ID/our reference number and clearly state that you are applying for the Ronald and Rita McAulay Scholarship
  • Why you have selected the programme at the University of Glasgow
  • Why you merit the funded place (e.g academic/personal achievement)
  • How you will benefit from it (e.g. employment prospects, financial relief, etc)

Successful candidates will be advised of the outcome by 03 April 2020.
