MVLS 2019 Engagement award for Connecting through Music

A team of students and staff from the School of Psychology and the Institute of Health and Wellbeing led by Dr Satu Baylan has won the MVLS 2019 Engagement award for their public engagement activity Connecting through Music.

The initiative, delivered as part of science festivals in Glasgow during 2019, focused on the therapeutic use of music in neurological conditions. The activities allowed visitors to learn how music is processed in the brain, and to contribute to research on music preferences and the use of music to influence mood as part of a Wellcome Trust Vacation Scholarship, awarded to 4th year Psychology undergraduate student Šimon Hanzal.
