This year’s Scottish Neuroscience Group meeting will be hosted by the University of Glasgow, and will take place on Friday 4th September, 2020.

To show our support for the SNG, and to help ensure a good turnout, please “Save the Date” at this early stage in your diaries!

Our guest speaker will be Professor Rob Gereau IV from Washington University of St Louis, USAs.  He is a world-leader in pain research, and uses an array of novel experimental approaches to study the circuit, cellular, and molecular mechanisms involved in the development of chronic pain conditions.

Studies in Gereau lab intend to "use knowledge generated in their preclinical studies to inform on the development of new approaches for the prevention and management of chronic pain and its many comorbidities, including anxiety and depression."

Professor Gereau has also helped develop wireless technologies that permit the measurement and manipulation of neural circuit activity in freely behaving animals.
