Professor Simon Garrod has retired this year after nearly 30 years of service for the University of Glasgow.

Prof. Simon Garrod, a distinguished member of the Institute of Neuroscience and Psychology, has retired this year after nearly 30 years of service for the University of Glasgow.

Simon is internationally renowned for his scientific contributions to the field of psycholinguistics and the psychology of language. His work includes numerous high-impact publications on dialogue processing, language comprehension and production, and the communicative foundations of symbolic representation, to name but a few.

To celebrate Simon’s academic achievements, the School of Psychology / Institute of Neuroscience and Psychology held a one-day event (“Simonschrift 2019”) on September 27, 2019.

The programme included various talks from colleagues and academic affiliates who had been working closely with Simon over the years, with contributions from a number of national and international guests.

We hope Simon agrees that the event turned out to be a great success and wish him all the best for his well-deserved retirement.
