Hello my name is Paul, and I am the new Library contact for MVLS.
My role is to support you with your research, whether that be helping you find and manage information, through to scoping where to publish to get maximum impact, and tracking that impact through publication metrics. I can also help with Open Access, Research Data Management and complying with REF and research funder publication requirements.
I have worked for several health boards, most recently performing systematic literature searches for the organisation that produces the SIGN guidelines and managing a NHS Scotland-wide clinical enquiry service.
I had great success in my previous academic institution building information and digital literacy throughout teaching and learning programmes, helping students (and staff!) become effective, self-sufficient learners and practitioners. I am also a current doctoral candidate researching the digital competencies of academic staff – so watch out, I might be asking one or two of you to become my guinea pigs before long!
I can be found in room 815 of the University Library, firstname.lastname@example.org, on 0141 330 6532, or @pcann_LIS on twitter. I look forward to working with you all!
