Andrew gained s BSc in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Durham University in 2003.  Prior to going on to study for his Masters of Research (MRes) at Newcastle University, looking at ‘Signalling pathways regulating MMP expression in chondrocytes’, he gained experience with Smith & nephew as a Research Scientist and Laboratory Supervisor. Andrew achieved his MRes in 2010 and continued on to study for a PhD in 'The role of Tribbles proteins in cartilage turnover'.

Andrew was awarded his PhD in 2014 and joined the GLAZgo Discovery Centre team in Jul 2014.  The experience Andrew brings to the GLAZgo Discovery Centre includes research on bone repair, MMPs, protein actives and biological scaffold materials.
