Biography

Ms Carr recently joined the Institute of Health and Wellbeing as Research Nurse Manager working on the Mental Health Data Pathfinder.  She is a registered Mental Health Nurse who had previously worked in NHS GGC for 37 years before retiring in May 2017.  Elizabeth studied Mental Health Nursing at North Glasgow College of Nursing and Midwifery and Woodilee Hospital, and after qualifying, worked there until 1994 until she then joined the Community Mental Health Team in North Glasgow.

In 2002, Ms Carr was tasked with developing Mental Health Crisis Services for North Glasgow where she focussed on providing a safe alternative to in-patient care as well as facilitating early discharge from hospital, meeting the requirements of the Mental Health Care and Treatment Act.

Prior to retiring in 2017, Ms Carr was the Crisis Team Leader for North and East Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire.
