Transferring Football Fans in Training

Football Fans in Training logo

Overweight, obesity and the lack of physical exercise constitute one of the most serious public health challenges in high income countries. This project aims to clarify the transferability of successful gender-sensitised weight management and physical activity interventions across contexts and to explore whether general principles on transferability can be established.

We are collaborating with the Complexity Programme to clarify the transferability of a successful gender-sensitised weight management and physical activity intervention, Football Fans In Training, across contexts and target groups. We are initially examining whether the theory of change, which specifically harnesses masculine motivation, can be adapted for female football fans.
