Marian Okon is a self-funded PhD student in the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit. She completed a Masters in Public Health (MPH) at the University of Glasgow in 2014 and went further to do a PhD. Her PhD will explore the association between oil economy and national development as well as its impact on population health. She is supervised by Professor Rich Mitchell, Professor Jamie Pearce (University of Edinburgh) and Dr Niamh Shortt (University of Edinburgh).
