Biography

Lynne Rush is a specialty trainee in Public Health Medicine who joined the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit in October 2015 as a Clinical Fellow.  Her clinical background is in General Practice and Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare.  She completed her Masters in Public Health at the University of Glasgow in 2013, having completed a systematic review and meta-analysis on the association between vitamin D and premature mortality that contributed a report by colleagues at Health Scotland and the Glasgow Centre for Population Health on the socioeconomic patterning of mortality outcomes in Scotland.  Her current research interests include the impact of media framing of health issues on public and professional understandings of risk.  Her PhD explores how UK newspapers report on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and sepsis and how this may impact on antimicrobial stewardship.
