Biography

Prior to joining the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit, Ian MacNeill was employed as a wine merchant, a youth worker, adult education tutor and, most recently, an outdoor and after-school activities coordinator at an international School in China. Ian's prior qualifications include BA (Hons) in Community Education from The University of Edinburgh and a MRes, with distinction, in Educational and Social Research from University College London's Institute of Education. Ian's doctoral research is concerned with investigating the potential for sport-based interventions to support young prison leavers.
