Getting to Glasgow
By air
Glasgow International Airport

The airport is situated seven miles to the west of the University. There is an airport bus service to the city centre. Glasgow International Airport has direct flight connections to all major European hubs, plus North America and the Middle East.

The airport is situated 22 miles south-west of the University. There is a railway station at the airport and an airport bus service to the city centre.
By rail
Intercity links to all major cities. Frequent services to Edinburgh (50 minutes) and London (5 hours). There are two city-centre terminals, Queen Street and Central (served by Buchanan St and St Enoch underground stations respectively)
By coach
Buchanan Bus Station is the main terminus for long distance coaches.
By road
From Carlisle, Newcastle and the south, exit M74 on to the M73, joining the M8 at the Old Monkland junction.
M8 exits for the University are J18 if travelling from the south, Edinburgh and the north and J19 if coming from Glasgow Airport and the west. Other main routes serving the University include Great Western Road (A82, north of campus), Clydeside Expressway (A814, south) and Byres Road (B808, west).
PLEASE NOTE Unfortunately, car parking on the University campus and surrounding area is extremely difficult.
Getting to General Practice and Primary Care
By bus
Routes 11 and 44 runs through the main campus from the city centre. Numerous other routes serve Dumbarton Road, Great Western Road and Byres Road. A seasonal tourist bus stops at the University. The nearest bus stops to General Practice and Primary Care are on Great Western Road
By underground
The nearest underground station is Hillhead. We are a five minute walk from here (Turn right on leaving the station, cross the road, and then just before Waitrose, turn left up Observatory Road. At the fork in the road, turn into the driveway immediately in front of you. This is House 1 (see "Our location" below).
By local train
The nearest suburban rail station is Partick, about one mile to the west of the University. It has an interchange with the underground and with bus services on Dumbarton Road.
By taxi
Black taxi cabs can be picked up at most times in the university area and the city centre.
Our location
General Practice and Primary Care occupies two buildings - House 1 is at 1 Horselethill Road (G12 9LX), and House 2 at 124 Observatory Road (G12 8UZ) which, although in different roads, are next door to each other.
House 2 can be reached from House 1 via a pathway (signposted) through the gardens. Alternatively, House 2 has its own entrance at the top end of Dundonald Road (just round the corner from Observatory Road). Both entrances are signposted "General Practice and Primary Care, University of Glasgow".
If in doubt, please report to our main reception in House 1.

Parking
Parking is on street but, if you plan to bring your car, please leave extra time as you may be required to park some distance away and walk the remainder of the journey. Parking within the grounds of either House 1 or House 2 is for staff only.
Cycle racks
A cycle rack is situated at the side of House 1.
