IHW leads on Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) activities

IHW's Public Engagement Group, led by GPPC's Sara Macdonald, has secured funding to develop PPI activity across the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences

A team, led by the Institute of Health and Wellbeing Public Engagement Group, has secured support from the MRC Proximity to Discovery fund, Wellcome Institutional Strategic Support Fund and the College to develop Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) activity, a well-established feature of the research process, from development of research questions to final dissemination.

The aims of the group include:

  • mapping current PPI links;
  • developing training for researchers and PPI members;
  • convening a PPI Steering Group which links to a range of community organisations and partners.

It would be helpful if any colleagues with strong PPI links would contact Dr Sara Macdonald Sara.Macdonald@glasgow.ac.uk or Dr Tracy Ibbotson Tracy.Ibbotson@glasgow.ac.uk to ensure they are included in the PPI map.
