New online course on research impact, developed by MVLS with policy contribution from IHW

A new University of Glasgow MOOC (Massive Open Online Course), "Research impact: making a difference", developed by MVLS with policy contribution from IHW, is accessible to all via the FutureLearn site.

A new University of Glasgow MOOC (Massive Open Online Course), "Research impact: making a difference", developed by MVLS is accessible to all via the FutureLearn site.

Dr Sara MacDonald, Senior Lecturer in Primary Care, (General Practice and Primary Care) was an integral member of the cross College steering group tasked with developing the MOOC and commented “We are really pleased to have been able to share our insight in how academic research can help to shape policy”. Prof Lisa McDaid, Professor of Social Sciences and Health (MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit) also provided a focused case study to the course.

FutureLearn is run by the Open University and courses are free (with a paid certificate option). This course would be of value to anyone in the higher education sector, including postgraduate students, all grades of academic staff and non-academic research professionals such as research managers. The three-week course involves four hours of study per week and will first run on Monday 22 October 2018, with further runs in 2019 and beyond.
