Dr Amy Tibbo

Biography

Completed an undergradtuate BSc (Hons) in Genetics and a PhD in Cellular Biochemistry both from the University of Glasgow. 

Currently a post-doctoral researcher on CRUK funded grant at The Beatson Institute for Cancer Research focusing on treatment resistance in Prostate cancer.

Research interests

My current research interest is in understanding the biochemical mechanisms of treatment resistance in advanced prostate cancer.  As part of the Urology Group at the Beatson, my work work uses novel in vivo models in conjunction with both in vitro and patient samples to interrogate the disease processes in advanced and treatment resistant prostate cancer.

In addition, I am interested in the role of cholesterol and lipid synthesis in prostate cancer and how therapeutics can target specific proteins within these pathways.
