The new Miss Scotland, Lucy Kerr, has chosen Action Medical Research as her charity to fundraise for this year. Lucy has identified our project - 177Lu-DOTATATE combined with radiosensitisers to enhance targeted radiotherapy of neuroblastoma - of particular interest to her.

This is a laboratory investigation, conducted in close collaboration with clinical colleagues, intended to translate rapidly into more effective treatment of children with neuroblastoma. We are using in vitro and in vivo models, to determine the most effective use of somatostatin-targeting 177Lu-DOTATATE treatment of neuroblastoma by combination with radiosensitising agents.  Our investigations will enable enhanced treatment of neuroblastoma while minimising toxicity.

Miss Scotland visited the Wolfson Wohl Cancer Research Centre to better understand our work.  We wish her well in her fund-raising endeavours.
