What forms do I need to fill in?
WEE disposal request form and Equipment Safe for Disposal Label OR Estates and Buildings request system for single, small items.

What do I want to dispose of?
Radioactive waste
What forms fo I need to fill in?
Attach a pre-printed label to the waste bag with the following information:
1. The laboratory of origin
2. The date of Delivery
3. The isotopes present
4. Estimated activity on teh date of disposal and disposed in a bin provided for this purpose. Estimates of activity must be as accurate as possible. Syringe needles and pipette tips must be shrouded before disposal.

Recycling
What do I want to dispose of?
Paper, plastics, cardboard
What forms do I need to fill in?
N/A White and blue recycling bins are provided in office and lab spaces.
General Waste
What do I want to dispose of?
Non-Hazardous waste not suitable for recycling.
What forms fo I need to fill in?
N/A Black bags are provided in lab areas and clear bags are provided in office areas.
Glass Waste
What do I want to dispose of?
Glass
What forms do I need to fill in?
N/A glass which has been safely decontaminated may be recycled in the glass bin provided. Glass which cannot be decontaminated must be disposed of as a special waste.
What I want to dispose of?
Pyrex and other high melting point glass.
What forms fo I need to fill in?
N/A this type of glasss is unsuitable for recycling. This glass type of may be disposed of in the general waste stream.
Sharps
What do I want to dispose of?
Sharps e.g. needles
What forms do I need to fill in?
Duty of Care form. Sharps containers which are correctly sealed are stored in a specific location ready for collection.
