Laboratory Management:

Cell culture:

  • Working with a variety of cell types including primary and human cells 

Molecular biology techniques:

  • Real time and conventional PCR, RNA and DNA extraction, gel electrophoresis, protein detection 

in vivo work: 

  • Held a PIL since 2012, keeping training record up to date 
  • Understanding and being aware of law and regulations that apply 
  • Managing mouse colonies and maintaining stock records 
  • Planning and organising experiments in advance 
  • Performing regulated procedures including surgical techniques 

Research interests

Over the course of my career and my studies, I have worked in a variety of different research areas including multiple sclerosis, renal fibrosis, skin papillomas and cathelicidins as well as working in an industry setting. 

I currently work within a research group whose focus is on neurodegeneration, with a particular focus of Alzheimer's Disease.
