Biography

I first came to the University of Glasgow to study Zoology, but through following my interests I happily tangented into a degree in Biochemistry. I followed this with a PhD characterising the Light-Harvesting 2 complexes of the purple photosynthetic bacterium Allochromatium chromatium.

During my PhD I began teaching as a demonstrator, then a GTA, and finally leading laboratory sessions. This experience highlighted my interest and motivation in helping the next generation of scientists develop their understanding of advanced concepts.

While continuing to work at the UofG, I taught at Glasgow International College (GIC) for several years both for foundation level and pre-Masters students.

I started in my most recent role at UofG in 2019 as a lecturer in the MVLS Graduate School, allowing me to support across multiple programmes, as well as supporting GIC student transitions as PGT GIC liaison.

I am currently studying for my PGDip in Academic Practice to further develop my teaching practice.
