Grant Success

Julian Dow, Shireen Davies and Pawel Herzyk have been awarded £1M (1.26M FEC) by the BBSRC for their project “Tackling diversity: new technologies to explore insect function”. This grant will leverage the cutting-edge technology of single-cell sequencing to bridge the gap between the genetic model Drosophila and the other 10M species of insects. A combined programme of sequencing, informatics and physiology across species representative of the major Insect clades, will provide a new view of insect function, evolution and phylogeny.
