CeMi Fundraising & Virtual Symposium
The Centre for the Cellular Microenvironment are raising funds to support the amazing work of the Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation (SBCF) in their Covid-19 Emergency Fund Appeal, to help support countries being disproportionately disadvantaged by the current global pandemic.
Since the launch, the SBCF have been delivering food and hygiene kitsto those most in need. Just a £10 donation could provide a hygiene kit to a family for a whole month. To date the CeMi group and University of Strathclyde have raised over £1200! For their big challenge finale and last push to raise as much as possible, they will be running, walking or cycling the distance from Glasgow to the Sir Bobby Charlton Rehabilitation Centre in Amman, Jordan, that is 5436k! #Run2Jordan
On 7th October, the SBCF Glasgow team will be hosting an online virtual symposium with University College London who are also working with the SBCF to help with the mental and physical challenges of those living in areas of conflict, and the Glasgow team will be presenting talks on the development a novel technology that will re-grow the bone of civilians who have had broken or shattered bones as a result of landmines, car crash or any other form of accident.
