Research interests

I have been an academic at the University of Bath for over 25 years and am currently Professor of Chemical and Materials Engineering in the Department of Chemical Engineering.

I have long-standing and wide-ranging interests in sustainable chemical and materials engineering research, with a focus on energy systems.  I am particularly interested in sustainable hydrogen energy, including as a Co-Director of the EPSRC Supergen Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Research Hub (H2FC).

At Bath I aim to embed sustainability in my teaching, including via the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and I lead a high-profile seminar series on campus as Director of the Institute for Sustainable Energy and the Environment (I-SEE).
