Understanding how people think, behave and make decisions in the work place is fascinating, particularly in complex, high risk-high reliability contexts. Research into these areas can have a real impact, working towards safety, performance, and effective organisational culture. Ruby's research interests span human factors and cognition including decision making and situation awareness as well as broader topics relating to organisational culture, safety, and innovation.
Most recently working on the psychological factors that influence technology adoption and the uptake of innovation within the upstream oil and gas industry. The findings from this research project may have implications for the energy transition, as corporations and consumers change the way that energy is produced and used.
