Research interests

I am currently Senior Lecturer in Urban Geography and lead for the research hub on Care and Urban Farming at the University of Salford.

My research interests are interdisciplinary and surround the broad area of sustainable urban environments with my work particularly focusing on the idea of urban agriculture and radical green infrastructure. My research includes work on exploring the potential for upscaled urban farming, including establishing the UK's largest urban farm, to work around informal sustainability, high-tech food growing and other areas.

I have led a large array of projects funded by charities, industrial partners, government bodies and more. This has led to global research in the likes of South Africa to work with UNESCO and other bodies.
