- Senior Lecturer in Latin American Politics - University of Liverpool
My research focuses on Brazilian foreign policy in the context of international relations in Latin America.
The project examines traditional as well as non-traditional areas of foreign policy, including environmental politics, climate change, democracy and human rights. As part of this project, I have researched and published on Brazil's international climate change policy since the early 2000s as well as the intersection of domestic and international factors in shaping this agenda. As part of this project I have also published on conflicts in Brazil surrounding renewable energy and mega-projects as a way to mitigate climate change.
I have an international media profile in Brazilian and Latin American politics and I have commented in the media on various aspects of Brazil's environmental and climate policies.
