Jason Halford

Research interests

Jason is an expert in human obesity, eating behaviour and appetite expression. He has worked on treatments for obesity including diets, drugs and behavioural approaches.

He also studies the psychological predictors of sucess and failure for bariatric surgery. His work also includes the study of the impact of food advertising on childrens foods choices (TV, online, social media).

Current projects include:

  • SWEET and SWITCH which both examine low calorie sweeteners in the context of weight management
  • iKnowFood which examines sustainable food choices and food insecurity
  • N8 Argifood where he leads theme three on behaviour, health and nutriton

Jason was also involved in ACTION-IO, examining the barriers to obesity treatment globally.
