Research interests
I study the health impacts of transport, with a focus on physical activity.
I have led several studies investigating the potential for active travel to benefit (and harm) health and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. I have compared the potential health and environmental benefits from land use changes (e.g. densificaiton) to that from behavioural change.
I have developed integrated models for assessing impacts of transport including physical activity, air pollution, traffic injuries, and noise.
My research include both high, middle and lower income countries.
I have develped models, methods, and tools for policy including UK DfT, WHO, and C40 Cities
