Professor Hisham Elkadi is the Dean and Professor of Architecture and the Built Environment at the University of Salford. His research is in urban regeneration and cultural built heritage and leads the Smart Urban Futures (SURF) research group. He has attracted a number of flarge unded projects amount to £20M including funded projects from ERDF, AHRC, EU FP6 NoE, EU Peace programme, EU/UIA, Newton programmes, Australia and UK Government funds, and many others.
Professor Elkadi is also an honorary professor at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany, Taylor University in Kuala Lumpur, and the University of Portsmouth UK. He was also appointed a visiting Professor at University College London and Harvard School of Design. He is also a board member of CIB (Council International de Bâtiment) and Geelong Gallery. He is also a reviewer for UNEP Global Environment Outlook.
