Research interests

I am a novelist and short story writer, with a particular interest in ecologically engaged fiction. In 2013 I edited BEACONS - STORIES FOR OUR NOT SO DISTANT FUTURE (Oneworld), in which I commissioned UK-based writers to engage with the climate emergency through short fiction.

My 2018 novel, THE DEVIL'S HIGHWAY (4th Estate) was described by George Monbiot as "the best treatment of climate change in fiction I've come across. A powerful, essential novel".
