Research interests

Hi. I'm Graeme, a specialist in sustainable and circular design innovation, sustainable design sprints, business model analysis and strategy.

I am an interdisciplinary researcher and practitioner with expertise in the development and application of frameworks designed to solve environmental challenges. This has led me to develop and apply frameworks for sustainable business model innovation, circular economy, and environmental management in a range of settings including for the aviation industry, where I have worked for the European Commission to influence policy and practice.

I am an advocate of end-user and co-created approaches to research using design thinking methodologies. This includes the creation of a novel approach to innovation using a unique "Sustainable Design Sprint" method that brings together the latest thinking from the environmental, business and design communities into a holistic and stakeholder focused approach to innovation.

I am an official trainer in Environmental Management for Airports Council International and a certified facilitator of the award-winning Carbon Literacy scheme.
