Research interests

Dr Angela Daly is Senior Lecturer in Law & Technology at the University of Strathclyde Glasgow, Law School where she is the Co-Director of the Strathclyde Centre for Internet Law & Policy.

Her research covers various aspects of the regulation and governance of new (digital) technologies and includes expertise in data protection, sector-specific regulation (telecoms, energy, medical/health), intellectual property, competition law and human rights. She has extensive international experience on these topics, having lived and worked in Europe, North America, Asia and the Pacific before returning to Scotland in 2019. She advises and has advised public sector, industry and civil society groups and currently collaborates with the Open Rights Group on digital rights issues.

Angela is interested in how regulatory and governance frameworks covering digital technologies promote sustainability and ensure these technologies are also sustainable. She is currently PI on an ESPRC STEM Equals grant examining the regulation and governance of sustainable digital energy deployments.
