Research interests

My interests lie in supporting the UK to become a leader in hydrogen and fuel cell technology which supports the skills agenda. As Director of the £4.1m Manchester Fuel Cell Innovation Centre at Manchester Metropolitan University I have been able to help build a multi discplinary facility which supports businesses with the academic expertise of my colleagues paired with market development support that I can provide for fuel cell and hydrogen innovation.

In addition to my role at the Centre, I  lead a number of projects to make Greater Manchester a centre of excellence in hydrogen and fuel cells such as Europe’s first targeted programme of Hydrogen Education (HySchools) . I am also leading the skills pathway for NetZero North West and was a lead author of the Greater Manchester Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Strategy.

Our ambiiton is now all about ensuring we can achieve scalable support for the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell industry in the UK.
