Research interests

My work focuses on analysing public engagement with climate change and the role of the news media.

I am former Editor-in-Chief of Environmental Communication (Routledge) and one of the founders of the International Environmental Communication Association (IECA). I am author of Media, Culture and the Environment (Routledge, 1997) and Media, Environment and the Network Society ([Palgrave, 2014).

My research considers how the conversation on climate change can be broadened, reaching out to a wider range of audiences.
